Nerds R Us: United We Craft

In our house, nerdy is equivalent with goodtimes...always.  So, we broke out the clipboards....
...MomE made a walking list...of things we were likely to see...fire hydrant, cat, dog, fall tree, etc.
Both kids had difficulty operating their large clipboards...and bent double to rest it on a knee and check items off.  Very cute!

After seeing lots of Fall trees... we used some leftover packing cardboard...
...and little bits of Fall colored papers...and some glue and scissors...
And made some pretty trees for DadE to take to work and put in his window.  His view is rather concrete-ish otherwise!  HA!
Yes, here at Nerd R Us...not only United We Craft...but we strive to beautify the workplace too!

Playing School...

Emmer-bean and Lubby LOVE to play school.  It will be a full year before she goes to Kindergarten, and a good two before he goes!  We've started saying, "You go to school when you are 6!"  In the meantime, we play...and play is sooo good for you!
We took our little backpacks and marched around the block.  Lubby packed tools...and Emmer-bean packed papers, pencils and crayons.  MomE noticed that they are still barely as big as fire hydrants.  *sigh*
We petted the neighbor's stone lion...Lubby picked his nose...Emmer-bean went for a ride...
 Lubby cheesed for MomE's camera!
It was one of those slow down kind of moments!  They're wishing to be bigger...and I want to put bricks on their heads to keep them from growing!

Game Night Returns...

We'd gotten out of the habit of Friday Pizza and Games...but brought it back this last week.  I'm sharing this info. on Tuesday...in the hopes that it will encourage others out there to join us this week!
We are working on teaching our kids to take turns, count the spaces, learn colors/numbers, be kind, and listen to rules!  This can be challenging!!
The MomE and Emmer-bean team....vs.....The DadE and Ca-Lubbby team...Incidentally, if you don't like to lose repeatedly do not play Connect Four with Loverbrains...ever.  It was stretching MomE's abilities to model being a good sport!
Oh, how we love Attack Uno!  We are learning to deal the cards too.  Even though it's just seven cards each...it takes a loooonnnggg time to deal them out when you are 3 or 5!
Princess Emma enjoys being pushed through the house in her golden chariot!  She points and he grunts and pushes her wherever she wants!  It's hilarious!  He eventually tires...and quits...and BOY, does that upset the princess!  HAHAHAHA!

My Man of Many Talents!!

What are they doing??
Please give a round of applause for my sweet Loverbrains...who aside from being wonderfully brilliant in all ways engineering... is also an artist...a SCREEVER, to be exact!
He started with a cute house for Emmer bean...equal parts rain and sun!!
Then he jumped to...can you guess??  It was for Lubby...yup, Wall-e
Then, well he went ALL OUT!  Yes, it breathes FIRE....
....A DRAGON!  The kids loved it!!

Hair Cuts and Hot Fall Days...

It has been WARM here...now that it is officially FALL...I would like everyone to pray for crisp, sunny days!  Hehehehe!  Also, the barometric changes tend to trigger migraines for me...so one big change and no more...ok?
Sorry for the recent lack of pictures...I was reminded that Grandma's and Grandpa's need pictures of their Sweet Boobahs!  I've been crazy busy...but all in a good way.
Today, my good friend Hannah came and cut Lubby's hair...cuz it was LONG...and the last time I cut it he was balded...and we haven't seen Grandpa D. recently (he usually cuts it)...AND it's the first she's felt good enough for a while.  See her cute baby bump??
Poor Miss Rana was grumpidy...she's getting her teeth AND had shots this week.  Man, all the rough things happen to ya at once!  Bummer!
Lubby looks cute with his hair cut...less like one of the Beatles...NO rat-tail...AND you can see his cute little face again!  Yeah!!

Church outside of the Church...

We had a great time getting together with a bunch of friends from our church. We went to this place that had go-carts, mini golf, arcades, etc. Turns out, our Pastor's a pretty good putt-putt golfer! The things you learn outside of the church building, eh? HA!
It was a riot to watch the Sweet Boobahs putt putt...eventually they got annoyed and just picked the ball up and put it in the hole...and then did a little dance around! HA!
We lost a few balls into the water...but thankfully no little people. At times I wondered if we might...but phew!
Some people are thrilled with their scores! She'd never do that in church! HAHAHA!
Doncha' love my glasses, mini backpack (epi pin/benedryl)...and perfect stance!
It is wonderful to have friends who amuse your kids while you attempt to beat your husband's score (yeah, right). She is just too zany and fun! The kids love her!! She just might do this in children's church too! HAHAHA!
Here were go-carts they could drive themselves! We did take them on the real co-carts. It was hilarious. Emmer bean was quiet the whole time...and when we got to the end she said, "I'm scared!" Lubby LOVED it...no surprise. It was all he could talk about for days!
I love remembering the the church isn't a building...it's believers coming together! It is good to have fun together!!
"How good and pleasant it is when brothers (and sisters) live together in unity!" Psalm 133:1

Friday Funtimes!

Here are the cuties painting....They are so cute as they share sweetly...
"Caleb, may I borrow your green, please." "Sure, Emma!"
They each wanted to make a heart of love for DadE!
We concentrated REALLY hard!
These days we are super bike riders...and this is the closest picture I could take...cuz they were leaving me in the dust! HA!

Playing "Frog Splat!"

Okay, that isn't as scary as it sounds! "Frog Splat" is played with this slimy green toy frog....

Makes me think of a song I used to sing at camp...
"Oh Tom the Toad, oh Tom the Toad
Why are you lying in the Road?
You did not see the car ahead,
And now you're only tire tread...
Oh Tom the Toad, oh Tom the Toad
Why are you lying in the Road?"

I attempted to make up an alternative...

"Oh, Fred the Frog, oh Fred the frog
Why are you lying in the Bog, Fog??...

Tube Tuesday: W Trouble

The kids and I have been playing a game on the refrigerator with our ABC chart...(while I attempt to get dinner ready)...and let me just say that some letters are just hard to teach cuz they don't make sense...So, when I heard this Between the Lions song (an oldie but a goodie) rerun...I just had to share with you!

God knows what I need...

...even cardboard tubes. Yes, I had a bad migraine yesterday...and God provided help for me...in the form of a twenty foot cardboard tube found in my neighbor's trash.
It provided a good many hours of fun for my two Sweet Boobahs...so that I could take my migraine medicine and chill out while it took hold! Which it did...again thank the Lord!!
And while I was formulating this blog entry on God's unfailing love for me....I discovered a chipmunk in my dining room. Okay... NO, I wasn't particularly thankful for that chipmunk...but I was VERY grateful that God allowed our good friends Grandma Pat and Grandpa Bob to be home...so he could come and rescue me---and get it OUT of our house! Phew!

Apple Butter and Applesauce! Yummo!!

Well, thankfully DadE loves MomE and bought her this nifty gadget for her kitchenaide...PHEW! Without it I'd have lots more blisters than I actually do...which is 3 in case you're interested!
Here's my set up. I'm so thankful for nice cool mornings...when I could open up the house and not feel so beastly hot! Steaming facials FREE here!!
Here is my crab apple jelly stash (which did set up after all...hey hey)...and my 9 pints of apple butter that were cranked out by that metal contraption of EVIL!
Here is today's gorgeous haul...9 applesauce and 9 more apple butter (with Splenda)...Yummo!
The clean up...not so much fun!

Apple Picking...Phew!

The weather was beautiful Saturday morning...and we all went apple picking. It was about 70 with a nice breeze and this year no bees!
We munched as we picked...mostly Cortlands and Jonathans...we'll come back later for some Jonagolds (MomE's favorite)...
Poor DadE had BAD allergies but picked apples anyway. Poor guy!!
We picked two bushels...and I was even warned not to pick too many at once...but I don't listen sooooo....
NOW I'm dehydrating, blanching and apple-buttering to beat the band. Phew...I'm tired!
My house smells awesome though...no candles needed!
