Feeding the Beasts...

Once upon a time, from a cave in the forest of Living Room there lived the two little bears.
They were fabulous chefs...and made special porridge each year for the forest animals to eat during their hibernation feast!
Chef Emma made strawberry souffle!  SoOOOOO, yummy.  The rabbit family just loved it!
Chef Lubby made chocolate donuts for the Great Pink Owl (MomE's name...I had a pink fleece on and my glasses!)  He is also "keeper of the pot," in case you're interested.
All the forest families were filled up...and sleepy because the bear chefs made them SO full!
Now, the two little bears will eat up the leftovers and go to sleep themselves!
"Feeding the Beasts"
a story written by MomE as she overheard and observed it while the Sweet Boobah's played!

Flat Tara Goes To The Museum

The kid's are loving their new subscription to Clubhouse Jr. Magazine.  A section we love is called Tara's Travel Journal.  She goes all over the world telling the good news of Jesus.

We were given an opportunity to color and cut her out...in a flat Tara form...to accompany us on a recent trip to the Indianapolis Children's Museum.
Right away, she saw Transformer Bumblebee....and an old Aeroplane.
She was very brave.  She wasn't afraid of the polar bear!  He's stuffed.
She watched Caleb play with a fun game at the Mr. Potato Head exhibit.
Tara really enjoyed the LEGO exhibit...
She watched kids race cars...
...and even rode in a fast LEGO race car!!  VROOM, VROOM!!
She had her picture taken in front of the Fireworks of Glass which is the largest permanent sculpture by glass artist Dale Chihuly. The 43-foot-tall tower took more than 14 days to install. There are more than 3,200 pieces of glass in the sculpture and an additional 1,600 in the ceiling. So pretty!!
Then she went on a deep sea dive with her good buddy Emma!
They saw a man do a live action Bumblebee...it was a little scary...but we were okay.
Then we saw some dinosaurs...
...they were neat!
Tara was sure to ride the Carousel before she went home too!
We had a great visit with Flat Tara and friends!  Now Emma and Caleb and MomE need a nap!  Phew!  Flat Tara might take one too!

A Turtle Life

I pray fervently for the hearts of my children to be transformed by God's mighty, saving grace.  Emma asked Jesus to be her Savior a while ago...and we do see small changes in her life.  My son... gives me heart palpitations in this department.  He's stubborn and knows that certain things mean a lot to me.  Sometimes, I'm sure, he says things just to get me going.  Such as, "I hate church"..."I don't want a clean heart"...you get the picture.  Please don't misunderstand...he's a sweet little four year old...but he's a little sinner...and an unrepentant one at this point.

When I picked him up from Bible study this week....He was happy at first, skipping to the car.  But, as we headed out to pick up his sister from Kindergarten, he grumbled..."I don't want a TURTLE LIFE....I'm fast...I want a rabbit life." At first, I was totally flummoxed...We've read Aesop's fables...but I didn't think they'd read those at Bible study...

Our lesson had been on Holiness and as I pondered how this could be in any way about turtles...I suddenly realized he meant...ETERNAL LIFE!!!

I tried to explain....it's ETERNAL....not A TURTLE...

That means it has no beginning or end...it last forever and ever and ever.  God is eternal.  The Bible is eternal.  If you know Jesus as your Savior you live forever as a part of God's family...ETERNALLY in heaven.  But, if you reject him...you still live ETERNALLY...in hell.  Because God is holy...he can't stand sin.

John 3:36, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."

The Perfect Job for a Little Boy

Swish--swish..."Look! When I chop their heads off it goes FOOF!"
Yes...sigh...the perfect job for a boy and his piece of bark imaginary sword...
Chief Dandelion Cultivator
Maybe I should start putting them in salads?  I could save money on lettuce.  I've heard it's good.

GOOD Friday!

"For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again;
death no longer has mastery over him."
 Romans 6:9
As is our family tradition...we mark our hands for Good Friday.
As I wrote Loverbrains' name on his hand he jokingly said, "Oh look!  You wrote my name so I won't forget it...thanks!"
Little Emma piped up, "No, Daddy...it's because Jesus died for YOU!"  Well said...well said.
It wouldn't be a Good Friday without Easter Sunday (Resurrection Sunday)...Ever think about that??  It would be terrible and horribly depressing if He took all our sins on Himself and stayed dead.  But, because He was the God man...the grave couldn't hold Him...Hallelujah...what a Savior!

"For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living."  Romans 14:9

Crazy Zoo Day!

Totally forgetting that today was Spring Break, I headed to the zoo today!  I know, how shocking is that...especially considering that one of my two children was with me because she is on spring break. *sigh* Anyhew...it was a madhouse.
But, there was a nice cool breeze...and we had a lovely time.  The walrus was up and doing his cute tricks...for lots of fish! Emma said that she thought that was GROSS!
The meerkats were cute...Emma said, "Hey, he's lookin' at me!!"
Caleb was loving the lizards...especially this big guy...cuz the glass in front of him was cracked.  I think someone kicked it...but Lubby was sure that it was cuz the "dragon" was so big and strong.
Then we watched the lemurs and the flamingos...one calm pink party next door to a wild ring-tailed party!
Phew...it started to get hot...so, we stopped for a drink and a snack.  We had slim jims...otherwise known as "oni sticks" (short for pepperONI).  Then MomE sort of forgot about her camera...cuz she was hot and hauling boobahs about.  We went out for lunch in the back of the van...and then tromped back in to see the rhinos, giraffes and elephants.
Now, we are back home...and I wish I could be this guy above...He's napping...so relaxed his limbs are swaying in the breeze!  Heehe!  Think I'm going to say hello to the hammock out back!

Peaceful...I love you!

I decided to cut my little MomE self a break...So, on this gorgeous day, I did NOT begin the cleaning for my Easter company, or work on the 2 intensive Bible studies I've been wadding my way through...
...I took my babies to the grocery store...with their own lists...and patiently completely what had  to be done for the day.  Then came home and pulled out the crafting supplies...and made paper crowns...
...practiced our cutting and taping and curling skills...taking pictures of chubby baby hands.  I read...
...FICTION...a delightful little story for my bookclub...and came across a quote to hold in my heart...
"Well, not the exact words I love you, but what she said was, "Ain't no sun in the kitchen without your face lookin' up at me.""
AND...for today...that's the kind of love I want to feel for my Sweet Boobahs...no where to rush off to...
...just watching a little boy get excited about drawing his first green heart...and then asking, "How do you write MOM?"
Seeing little happy faces...and not being so busy trying to get things done...that I grumble and bark...
...instead...looking up from my book to say, "I'm watching...do it again.  Wait, let me get my camera."
